One Week Quilting Holiday in Umbria from £950
Sleeping Bear Crafts are now organising Quilting Holidays in the beautiful surroundings of the Umbrian countryside near the ancient hilled town of Spoleto in central Italy.
Having travelled to central Italy a number of times in the past 10 years, Alistair and I have fallen in love with this region: the scenery, the people, the history and not least the food! A couple of years ago we discovered the ancient hilled town of Spoleto in Umbria. Not only do we want to go back there as often as we can, we would also like to share it with you.
In 2012 we have two Quilting Holidays on offer, 13th - 20th June and 12th -19th September.
Everything is included while you are there: workshop tuition and other activities, accommodation (including all linen and towels), all meals (including wine with lunch and dinner) and local transportation (including transfers from/to airports). All you have to do is to get to Perugia, Rome or Spoleto and we’ll do the rest.
Accommodation will be in four apartments each with 2 twin/double bedrooms, 2 bath/shower rooms, kitchen/sitting room. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided every day including wine.
There is a large (120 sq m) private swimming pool on site; TV/DVD player, washing machine and internet access in every apartment.
With over 11 years Patchwork & Quilting experience I have been teaching workshops on various techniques since 2007. My teaching style is very relaxed and my students tell me that I'm very patient with beginners and those who have trouble picking up a particular technique. My emphasis is not to strive for perfection but rather to aim for the sense of achievement and satisfaction from learning something new.
On our Quilting Holiday Retreat Workshops there will be projects for both hand and machine sewing which you can work on throughout the week. Or you can choose to bring your own project and simply indulge in a guilt-free week of uninterrupted sewing!
In either case, I will be on hand to teach you some new skills, to demonstrate and pass on plenty of tips and techniques and to give any advice you need to help complete your chosen project.
Villa Marianna, near Spoleto in Umbria, is a spectacular location in which to spend a whole week quilting at an informative and fun-filled workshop.
There is a maximum of sixteen places on each Holiday Workshop.
Non-Quilting partners are welcome and there will be non-quilting activities on at least three of the days, which are open to all our guests at no additional charge.
